What I Did in Bangalore Food Truck + Music Festival ( Bangalore , India )

So me and my friend , we decided to go for this Bangalore Food Truck + Music Fest in Pebbles . It was all about food and music !!

We woke up a bit late because of the Saturday Pyjama Party at home . Anyway the event was going to start only at noon. So we got decked up and left for Pebbles around 1pm .

I was so excited for the food fest ! and in my head it was all about FOOD FOOD FOOD !! Hahaha  :p

Finally we reached our destination . Pebbles :D . Well Pebbles is a jungle lounge , a part of Palace Grounds in Bangalore and one of the best pubs or lounge in Bangalore . They have Psy parties , Ladies night , Kitsch Mandi , Food and Music Fest extra , Its a large area . I have always loved this place !! My favourite of all the places in Bangalore.

We had to pay 200Rs as entry fee for the Bangalore Food Truck + Music Festival . There were so many people , eating , with their pets . It was so much fun seeing them . We decided to go have a look at the trucks and start hogging !

The whole place was decorated by Kitsch Mandi . It was beautiful and soon I shall decorate my house  the same way . *inspired*

Later , we decided on which truck to start from . We could see everyone eating delicious hot dogs so we ran to the truck called BBQ Spitfire where we ordered for one New York Style Hot Dog and One BBQ Smoked Chilli and Cheese Hot Dog with Bacon. They told us that it would take time so we went inside the lounge to get ourselves some Beer to drink .

Meanwhile we could see a lot of local bands playing and singing . It was pretty ! I don't know if you are familiar with this YouTube sensational song called "This is Bengaluru" sung by Rinosh George . Well he was also there entertaining us with his wonderful voice !

After a while we went back to our truck to get the food that we ordered ! Delicious !!!

We found a seat to sit and eat / drink peacefully till we hit the next truck . I had not expected so much crowd but it was filled with people who love food and music .
Like minded people I would say ;)

There were other trucks like Foodipa , SWAT Truck , Square Ruth and Wicked off .

After a while we went to this truck called Fuel -Up since we wanted to have Keema Pav . We ordered for one Keema Pav and a desert called Churros .

You must be wondering how did the pastry kind a thing come into this picture !!??

Well when we went to get the food , I saw this pastry lying on the table . I basically had my eyes on this particular desert. Was curious to know what it was , so I asked the lady of Fuel -Up what it was called ! She was really sweet to give that pastry to me just like that to eat ! It was on the house since someone who ordered for it didn't turn up . Yayy !! Super Happy :)

The stomach was happy and so was our mind . Pebbles was lit up and looked so beautiful and colourful. The ambiance was perfect for the evening . People were dancing to the music with beer and food . It was a wonderful experience .

Stomach Full - Heart Happy - Perfect Sunday

Loved This Event and I wish this happens again soon !! Good Job Bangalore Food Truck + Music Festival !!!

Thank you :)

HAMPI - The Forgotten Empire

Introduction to Hampi

Hampi  is a village in northern Karnataka, India. It was one of the richest and largest cities in the world during its prime. The name Hampi can also mean "champion". It is located within the ruins of the city of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Predating the city of Vijayanagara, it continues to be an important religious centre, housing the Virupaksha Temple, as well as several other monuments belonging to the old glorious city. The ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, listed as the Group of Monuments at Hampi.
It is said that , 'Hampi traditionally known as Pampa-kshetraKishkinda-kshetra or Bhaskara-kshetra is derived from Pampa, which is the old name of the Tungabhadra River on whose southern banks the city is built.
The emperor Ashoka's minor rock edicts in Nittur & Udegolan (both in Bellary district) lead one to believe that this region was within the Ashokan kingdom during the 3rd century BCE. A Brahmi inscription & a terracotta seal dating to the 2nd century CEwere also discovered from the excavation site.
The first historical settlements in Hampi date back to 1 CE.
Immediately before the rise of the Vijaynagara kings, the region was probably in the hands of chiefs of Kampili, now a small town, 19 km east of Hampi.
Hampi has various Hindu temples .

The Journey

We in a group of 5 left for Hampi by Car . From Bangalore it is approximately around 350 kms and took us around 6 hours to reach . We woke at 5am and left for Hampi , though we stopped mid way at the coffee shops for a break . The roads to Hampi is excellent so people who love to drive would love the roads and zoom .
We took the nice road highway ---> Tumkur ---> Chitradurga ---> Hospet ----> Hampi route.
On our we we crossed the beautiful Tungabhadra Dam .

Behind is the famous Tunga Bhadra Dam . We took a 5 mins break to take pictures at this spot so were the other travellers .
After crossing Hospet , 20 mins later we reached Hampi . The police asked us to park our car at the entry since the village didn't have space for a car . From that very spot we had to take an auto to our guest house . We had our reservation in a guest house called as The New Lakshmi Heritage Guest House which had two standard rooms with AC . Initially we thought AC wasn't required but thank god I booked for AC . The weather is undoubtedly hot.

We freshened up to have lunch and to visit the ancient village . Stopped at this roof top hut called " Gopi Guest House" . The manager was very helpful and explained yo us about the place . This helped us what to do when and plan accordingly since we were there for just 2 days .

We decided to cross the river to go to the other side to go to the lake . The river had to be crossed by a coracle boat . This coracle boat is a traditional round boat used to cross river in south of India and also surprisingly to the rivers of Ireland.

The side we stayed was a total vegetarian place since there were a lot of Hindu Temples on our side whereas the other side allowed alcohol and non vegetarian food . Most of the youngsters would cross and go the other side . I personally loved both sides and in few months I would totally love to stay there for a month and enjoy the ancient history .
We crossed the river and went to the lake by an auto rickshaw . Later went to a bohemian place called The Laughing Buddha and realxed .

Just like in the pictures , you could see the other side of the river from this place . It's a beauty !! A Picturesque view !!
We ordered for some food and beer and loosened away to glory .
So , the boat ride would stop once it was dark . To go back we had leave before 7pm , so we left for our rooms . After little rest , we went for dinner in this chilled out cafe called The Chillout Cafe . It was like little goa in Hampi .
The next morning , I decided to wake up early and go for a walk and feel the place . Being a part of an ancient village is totally a different experience .

We were also told that , The Elephant from The Vripuksha Temple , goes to take bath in the river everyday morning . So were got up and dressed up early and ran to the river to take blessings from The Elephant.

Please find the above link , where the elephant was giving us his blessings . It was legendary moment .

For a while we sat by the river and observed the place.

Later we head to The Vripuksha Temple !!
The temple's history is uninterrupted from about the 7th century. The Virupaksha-Pampa sanctuary existed well before the Vijayanagara capital was located here. Inscriptions referring to Shiva date back to the 9th and 10th centuries. What started as a small shrine grew into a large complex under the Vijaynagara rulers. Evidence indicates there were additions made to the temple in the late Chalukyan and Hoysala periods, though most of the temple buildings are attributed to the Vijayanagar period.
Under the Vijayanagara rulers, in the middle of the 14th century, there began a flowering of native art and culture. When the rulers were defeated by Muslim invaders in the 16th century, most of the wonderful decorative structures and creations were systematically destroyed.
The cult of Virupaksha-Pampa did not end with the destruction of the city in 1565. Worship there has persisted throughout the years. At the beginning of the 19th century there were major renovations and additions, which included ceiling paintings and the towers of the north and east gopura.

The next visit was to The Vijaya Vittala Temple . The Most Beautiful.
Vittala Temple is the most extravagant architectural showpiece of Hampi. No amount of words can explain this spectacle. The temple is built in the form of a sprawling campus with compound wall and gateway towers. There are many halls, pavilions and temples located inside this campus.
Vittala, after whom the temple is known, is a form of lord Vishnu. This aspect of Vishnu was worshiped in this part of the country as their cult deity by the cattle herds.
The temple was originally built in the 15th century AD. Many successive kings have enhanced the temple campus during their regimes to the present form. You can even see the remains of a township called Vittalapura that existed around this temple complex. The highlight of Vittala temple is its impressive pillared halls and the stone chariot. The halls are carved with an overwhelming array of sculptures on the giant granite pillars. The stone chariot located inside the campus is almost an iconic structure of Hampi.
You can still see the remains of the painting on the carvings of the chariot. Probably because it was relatively protected from the natural wearing elements, the undercarriage of the chariot spots one of the best preserved specimens of this kind of paintings. It is believed the whole of the Vittala Temple’s sculptures were once beautifully painted in similar fashion using the minerals as medium.

All these pictures were clicked by my Ipad .

You can see the beautiful Vittala Temple !! Couldn't stop bragging about this Ancient place.
We left for Bangalore and on the way we decided to see The King's Throne and The Queen's Bath .

The Kings Throne

The kings throne was basically the kings court were all the kingdom members and the ministers would work on the law and order . The court was extremely beautiful and gigantic.

Above was just the throne of The King so you can imagine how big the court was .

On our way we crossed the Queen's Bath where the queen would come to take bath and get dressed .

There were a lot more monuments that we missed in this trip . But I am hoping to come back soon and go back to the ancient history and see the rest of Hampi .

"Just let me shop & No one gets Hurt " - What I Shopped In Malaysia !!

Its hard to find time to shop for yourself , but a closet full of options is a time saver !!
If you find something you like , stick to it and buy at least three !! LOL ;)
So !! Yes , I shopped till I Dropped !!

Well , frankly speaking I went totally ballistic looking at the malls . All the shopping malls were humongous !! I swear . There were brands like H&M , Bath & Body Works , Unicolo, Victoria Secrets etc . The other brands were difficult to remember . We went street shopping as well the other day ! Lets start with what I bought from the malls . The Mall I went to was Sunway Mall , Suria Mall and KLCC Sentral Mall called Mu sigma I guess . Terrible at recollecting names !

  • So first we went to Sephora . We do have Sephora in India but only in Delhi ,and I stay in Bangalore. Had heard a lot about the brand so decided to head there first . I can't tell you how pretty the place is . I was totally confused . But thanks to my favourite bloggers I knew about some of the products and head their straight .

  • I got the Glad Hair Day Cream for my hair since it gets dry very easily . Plus I ride an activa so it gets difficult to keep your hair pretty . Also as bought the Sephora Strawberry Hand Lotion , Cream Eye Shadow ( for my mom ) and Body Shower Gel . The Sephora Lip Gloss came in free with our purchase at this store . The Burts Bees lip balm is what I terribly wanted , so got that . This lip balm is just super amazing and the only lip balm I trust .
  • It was high time I bought a Palette , so I head to the Naked Counter and bought the Urban Decay Palette . Soon I should do some make up and put it up for you . Last but not the least got a lip tint from Benefit Cosmetics and the packaging is just so adorable .

  • I shall reveal the truth !! I went MAD at Bath & Body Works . I fell in love with this place and didn't know what to pick up and what not to. Lord ! I was so greedy that I wanted more of it but my financial conditions were going down ! LOL .
  • Well , here I knew what I wanted . I directed myself to the travel editions and got the Peach Mist , Velvet Sugar Body Shower Gel and Love Sunshine Lotion. I had also heard a lot about their sanitizers so I got the gift pack which had 5 pieces of different fragrance. Next , this is where I surrendered  , the aroma therapy products . Fantafabulous ! Loved them but couldn't buy them and kept it back .
  • I love candles so I couldn't  resist and got this "Be Darling " Candle which is musky and smells like a man *wink* *wink* Hahaha !

  • Then we went street shopping at Pentaling Street . While me and my friend were window shopping , we saw this creative man making this beautiful colourful bottled sand art . I was astonished how he could do it ! I saw him making one of these . The whole art is done with sand and gum by filling it inside the bottle . Beautiful Creation ! I bought this for myself as a souvenir .

  • There were 1st copy bags being sold which looked 100% original and I was in two minds in buying a Micheal Kors Satchel .
  • But meanwhile I saw this beautiful handbag in three colours and automatically changed my mind . They had this bag in Black , Tan Brown , and Dark Brown .
  • I still need to inaugurate this bag and style it :)
So these are what I bought for myself . I got some miniature perfumes and chocolates for my friends. For dad I picked up a T shirt from Unicolo and A Scotch Bottle from the Duty free store and for mom , I got her a stylish hand bag with cosmetics and perfumes . And some more T shirts and chocolates for my dear brother .
